Power is your important currency and also the greatest threat to your career. Power is having control, authority or influence over others, and yourself as well, especially in the form of appropriate restraint. It’s
critical to make the distinction between positional power and personal power. Positional power is the authority, control and even physical strength granted to you by a majority of votes or a political appointment.
Unfortunately, it’s fickle and fleeting; you have positional power only as long as you have the position. Personal power is cultivated and nurtured over a lifetime of learning, and you can rely on it to further your career and fulfillment because it is lasting.
